Where to begin?
Whether or not to become a police officer, EMT or firefighter is an important decision. At IPR, the entire process becomes transparent, so you can see the specifics of each step. We help you narrow your focus and set specific tasks and objectives to meet your goal. Often the goal for IPR students is to pin on a badge.
YouR Lead instructor
Currently assigned to the Special Enforcement Unit (SEU) in a medium-sized police agency, Officer Marcus Mahanty brings a wealth of experience and serves in a range of areas to include Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer (FTO), Cadet / Explorer Advisor (Operations & Training Manager) and Honor Guard member. Officer Mahanty is certified as a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE), Standardized Field Sobriety Test (SFST) Instructor, CA POST Academy Instructor (AICC) and Intermediate Instructor with the Instructor Development Institute (IDI). Prior to his work in law enforcement, Mahanty was Assistant Programs Director at a multi-jurisdictional correctional facility as well as Corrections Officer, Emergency Medical Technician and a US Marine. As a military officer, Mahanty served as a Motor Transport Platoon Commander and Battalion Staff Logistics Officer, with combat deployments to Afghanistan in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.
Additionally, Officer Mahanty designed and edited the “TacBook” based on his extensive training and experience in a range of tactical and combat environments. TacBook filters only what is essential to the field operator and has been referred to as “a master-compilation of cheat sheets”. Pocket-sized, writable, weather-proof and tear-resistant, it is an indispensable tool for students of criminal justice, Cadets / Explorers, recruits, rookies, patrol officers, Field Training Officers and experienced law enforcement officers nationwide.

We strive to maintain our solid reputation among our partners across the spectrum of public safety, primarily Police, Fire and EMS entities.

There are so many exciting career paths in public safety… Where to start? To consider so many possibilities and try sift through the ocean of information on the internet, can be a bit overwhelming. Much of the open-source information is outdated, and there is no shortage of unqualified people publishing “advice”.
In the IPR Three Block Program, your qualified instructor (who is CURRENTLY serving as a peace officer) boils it down to the simplest specific steps that feels as natural as “Ready-Set-Go”.
Each student will have somewhat different goals. A unique feature of IPR is that your instructor will demonstrate a research strategy in order to identify your target positions and customize your path. Some of the key aspects of Block I cover determining

You don’t have to spend thousands of dollars or full semesters to join a public safety agency. This course is completed in only 3 sessions. Among the many materials you will receive is a thumb drive containing templates and checklists, so you do not have to start from scratch and easily stay on track! The best part: we have fun and highlight real-life material that is beyond inspiring.
Upon graduating Block I, you will be fully prepared for Block II.
